# Cars

PHPTRAVELS cars module docs: setup guides for the car rental and airport transfer suppliers Cartrawler, Discovercars and Kiwitaxi on your booking site.

The PHPTRAVELS cars module lets travel agencies and rental companies sell car hire and airport transfers on the same booking website as flights and hotels. Customers choose a pick-up location and dates, compare car classes, add extras and cover at checkout, and receive a voucher the rental desk accepts. Airport transfers (private or shared) can be sold from the same search, with flight-number tracking and meet and greet where the supplier supports them.

### What the module covers

* **Airport and city pick-up** -- Mark each location as in-terminal, shuttle, city office or hotel delivery, with opening hours and pick-up instructions on the voucher.
* **Car classes** -- Vehicles from your fleet and from suppliers are mapped so customers can compare like for like (for example by ACRISS / SIPP codes).
* **Extras and cover at checkout** -- GPS, child seats, additional drivers and insurance options are priced online, so the total is clear before arrival.
* **Airport transfers** -- Private and shared transfers, meet and greet, and flight tracking where the connected supplier provides them.
* **Vouchers** -- Confirmed rentals and transfers produce a voucher and invoice with confirmation numbers, desk address, deposit notes and what to bring.
* **Same checkout** -- Cars sit in the same checkout as flight and hotel booking, so a traveller who books a flight can add a car or transfer on the next screen.

### Turn the module on

1. Log in to the PHPTRAVELS Admin Panel.
2. Open the modules / products area and enable **Cars** (wording may vary by version).
3. Open each supplier you have contracted (Cartrawler, Discovercars, Kiwitaxi) and enter API credentials.
4. Keep suppliers in **test / sandbox** mode until a test search and test booking succeed.
5. Set markups for your public website and for B2B agent groups if you use the agent portal.
6. Switch suppliers to live credentials only after a successful end-to-end test booking.

### How cars sit with flights and stays

A customer can search cars on their own, or add a rental or transfer after booking a flight or hotel. The booking, payment, voucher and admin reports use the same platform as your other modules. Agents in the B2B portal can book rentals and transfers with their own rates and pay from their wallet balance.

### Before you go live

* Confirm pick-up locations, currencies and markups for each supplier.
* Run a test search for a known airport and dates.
* Complete a test booking and open the voucher in the customer email and in the admin.
* Confirm cancellation and amendment behaviour with each supplier account.

If a supplier page under Cars still says "Coming soon", use that supplier's dedicated guide when it is published, or contact support with your Order ID and supplier account details.
