# Ferries

PHPTRAVELS ferries module docs: connect the Kikoto Ferries API for real-time ferry search, availability, pricing and bookings on your travel website.

The PHPTRAVELS ferries module lets travel agencies and operators sell ferry crossings with live departures, seats and cabins, vehicles and pets, and QR boarding passes. Sailings can come from ferry APIs and from your own routes, and ferries share search and checkout with the rest of your travel products.

### What the module covers

* **Live departures** -- Timetables from connected operators and from routes you publish yourself.
* **Seats and cabins** -- Deck seats, reserved seats, lounges and private cabins with their own capacity and fares.
* **Vehicles and pets** -- Cars, vans, motorbikes and caravans priced by type and length; pets and extras where offered.
* **Multi-leg trips** -- Return trips and island hopping with connection checks and one checkout.
* **E-tickets** -- A QR boarding pass emailed with the invoice when payment clears.

### Before you start (Kikoto)

PHPTRAVELS is the official technology partner of Kikoto Ferries. To sell connected ferry inventory you typically need:

1. A Kikoto account and API access (credentials issued to you).
2. An active PHPTRAVELS installation with the ferries module enabled.
3. Markups decided for B2C website and B2B agent channels.
4. Working payment gateways and email for tickets.

Route, operator and product availability depend on the connected inventory in your Kikoto / partner account.

### Recommended setup order

1. **Enable Ferries** in the Admin Panel.
2. **API settings** -- Open Kikoto (or the ferries supplier settings), enter credentials, keep test mode on.
3. **Test search** -- Search a known route and date; confirm sailings, classes and vehicle options appear.
4. **Test booking** -- Book foot passengers (then a vehicle if available); pay with a test gateway; open the QR ticket.
5. **Markups** -- Set website and agent prices.
6. **Go live** -- Switch to live credentials and monitor the first real bookings in the admin.

### Own routes and allotments

Besides API inventory you can publish routes you run or contract, and manage allotments of seats, cabins and vehicle space. Capacity counts down as places sell; online sales can stop at the check-in deadline you set per route.

### B2B

Agents can book ferry tickets in the white-label B2B portal at their own rates and pay from their agent wallet, using the same installation as your public site.
