# Kayak

Kayak flights in PHPTRAVELS: connect your Kayak partner account in the flights module, add credentials, check results on your site and fix common errors.

### What the Kayak module does

Kayak is a travel metasearch brand that compares flight prices from airlines and online travel agencies. PHPTRAVELS lists Kayak among its flight suppliers. With the module active, Kayak flight results can be shown in your website's flight search alongside your other flight sources, under the terms of your Kayak partner agreement.

### What you need

* An approved Kayak partner agreement that allows API use on your website. Kayak decides who gets access and how results may be displayed and booked.
* The API credentials Kayak provides for your partner account. Ask your Kayak partner contact which values apply to you.
* Admin access to your PHPTRAVELS website.

### Where to add the credentials

1. Log in to the admin panel at `yourdomain.com/admin`.
2. Go to **Settings > Modules** and open **Kayak** in the flights list.
3. On the **General** tab, enable the module.
4. On the **Credentials** tab, paste the Kayak values into the labelled fields, run **Test** if available, and save.
5. On the **Markup** tab, set a margin if your agreement allows one.

### How to test

* Search a high-volume route, for example a return trip between two major cities.
* Check that Kayak results appear, with airline, times and prices in the correct currency.
* Click through one result and confirm the booking or hand-off works the way your Kayak agreement describes.
* Repeat the search in another currency and language to check the display.

### Common errors

* **Nothing returned** -- the module is off, the credentials are wrong, or the partner account is not active yet.
* **Results in the wrong currency** -- check the module currency and your exchange rates under Settings > Currencies.
* **Prices differ from Kayak's site** -- metasearch prices move quickly and are confirmed at booking.
* **Access restricted** -- some partner programmes limit markets or traffic; confirm your limits with Kayak.
