# Sabre

Sabre flights API in PHPTRAVELS: the Sabre access you need, where to enter credentials in the module settings, how to test fares and fix common errors.

### What the Sabre connection is

Sabre is a global distribution system (GDS) that travel agencies use to search, price and book airline fares. In PHPTRAVELS, Sabre is a supplier inside the **Flights** module: fares from your Sabre account are shown in your flight results with your markup, and bookings are created against your own Sabre agreement.

### What you need

* A Sabre agreement for your agency with API access enabled. Sabre decides eligibility; ticketing usually also needs your own IATA or consolidator arrangement, which PHPTRAVELS does not provide.
* The API credentials and agency identifiers Sabre assigns to you, for the certification (test) environment and later for production. Ask your Sabre account manager for the exact values.
* Admin access to your installed, licensed PHPTRAVELS website.

### Where to enter them

1. Log in at `yourdomain.com/admin`.
2. Open **Settings > Modules** and select **Sabre** in the flights list.
3. On the **General** tab, enable the module, keep **Dev mode** on development and choose the PNR type your workflow uses.
4. On the **Credentials** tab, paste the Sabre values into the labelled fields. Click **Test** if the button is shown, then save.
5. Set your B2C and B2B margins on the **Markup** tab.

### How to test

* Search a busy route, for example a capital-to-capital one-way trip a few weeks ahead.
* Check fares, baggage and fare rules against what Sabre returns.
* Create a test booking and confirm the PNR or booking reference is saved on the booking in the admin.
* Cancel or void the test booking where your Sabre setup allows it.

Move to production credentials and **Dev mode** production only when these steps work.

### Common errors

* **Authentication or session errors** -- wrong credentials, or test credentials used in production mode.
* **No fares returned** -- the route or dates have no availability, or your Sabre profile is not set up for the content you are searching.
* **Booking created but not ticketed** -- ticketing depends on your Sabre and IATA setup; check it with Sabre.
