# Travelport

Travelport hotels in PHPTRAVELS: connect your Travelport GDS account to the stays module, add your credentials, test search and booking, then go live.

### What the Travelport hotel connection does

Travelport is a global distribution system (GDS) used by travel agencies for air, hotel and car content. The PHPTRAVELS **Stays** module can use your Travelport account as a hotel source, so GDS hotel rates sit in the same search results as your direct contracts and bedbank suppliers. Your markup rules decide the selling price for every Travelport room.

### Before you start

* An active Travelport agreement that includes hotel content and API (web services) access. Travelport grants this access, not PHPTRAVELS.
* The API credentials and account identifiers Travelport issues for your agency, for the pre-production (test) environment first and production later. Your Travelport account manager can confirm which values you need.
* Admin access to an installed, licensed PHPTRAVELS website.

### Where to enter the credentials

1. Sign in to the admin panel at `yourdomain.com/admin`.
2. Open **Settings > Modules** and select **Travelport** in the stays list. If you also sell Travelport flights, make sure you are editing the stays entry.
3. On the **General** tab, enable the module and leave **Dev mode** on development.
4. Paste your Travelport values into the fields on the **Credentials** tab, use **Test** where it is available, and save.
5. Set B2C and B2B margins on the **Markup** tab.

### How to test

* Run a hotel search for a major city with GDS coverage.
* Compare the room, board and cancellation terms with what Travelport returns for the same dates.
* Make a test booking in the test environment and check that the confirmation number and voucher appear in the admin and in the customer email.
* Cancel it and confirm the status changes.

### Common errors

* **Empty results** -- hotel content is not enabled on your Travelport account, or test credentials are used with Dev mode set to production.
* **Access denied** -- the credentials are mistyped or have expired; request fresh ones from Travelport.
* **Booking fails after price check** -- the rate is no longer available; search again.
