Markups are pivotal for tailoring pricing strategies to maximize profitability and competitiveness in the travel industry. Here’s a comprehensive guide to assist you in configuring markups effectively:

**Understanding Markups in PHPTRAVELS:**

Markups are essential tools for adjusting prices on the services offered through our software. They empower travel agencies to cover costs, generate revenue, and maintain competitiveness in the market.

**Two Main Markup Options:**

1. **Affiliate Markups:**
   * Suitable for integrating services from third-party providers like Kiwi Flights Module. While feasible, affiliate markups may have limitations compared to merchant GDS options.
2. **Merchant GDS Markups:**
   * Highly recommended and supported within PHPTRAVELS software. This option provides greater flexibility and control over pricing, particularly when interfacing with suppliers like Amadeus, Travelport, Duffel, and TBO APIs.

**Advantages of Merchant GDS Markups:**

* **Price Customization:** Enjoy autonomy in adjusting prices to align with your business strategy and market dynamics.
* **Payment Gateway Integration:** Seamlessly integrate your preferred payment gateway for direct fund transfers to your account, enhancing financial control and revenue management.
